Matthew 4:19
The word vocation comes from the latin word vocare meaning "to call." Each of us, through our baptism are called to share in Christ's mission as priest, prophet, and king. We fulfill this mission through our vocation whether that be in marriage, single life, priesthood, or consecrated religious life.
The people of St. Thomas Aquinas are committed to fostering an environment where every young man and woman can prayerfully discern God's call to live out their vocation. Please join us as we pray for our Holy Father, our Bishop, our Priests of the Diocese, our seminarians, those in houses of formation, and those discerning God's call to ministry and service in the church by participating in the following activities:
Holy Hour for Vocations - On the first Monday of every month at 7PM, a group of parishioners gathers in our Perpetual Adoration Chapel for a Holy Hour dedicated to an increase in religious vocations.
Vocations Chalice - Each week a family from our parish takes home the Vocations Chalice and gathers as a family each day to pray for an increase in religious vocations.
Monthly Prayer Calendar for Priests and Seminarians - A special prayer calendar is distributed in the bulletin at the end of every month. Each day on the calendar features the name of a priest/seminarian of the Diocese of Austin. The entire parish is then asked to pray a prayer of thanksgiving for that vocation and that God continues to bless our priests in their ministry.
