The Music Ministry at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church strives to serve God and our parish through the appropriate use of  sacred music to foster the "fully conscious and active participation in liturgical celebrations" (Vatican II, Sacrosanctum Concilium). It is our duty to serve God with our hearts, hands, and voices, while helping to bring the hearts of the faithful to Christ, truly revealed to his people in the Eucharist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Liturgy is an organic presentation of our praise for God. Through the Mass, the "banquet of the reconciled," we are all joined to "a meeting of heaven and earth... [and] a meeting of the Church then and now and a meeting of the Church here and there" (Ratzinger, God is Near Us). Thusly, our ministry's approach to the Sacred Liturgy is to join the varied talents and elements of our worship, music from then and now and music from here and there, to help build unity in the Body of Christ.

We welcome you to our exciting ministry! We encourage all parishioners to prayerfully consider offering their musical talents, either instrumental or vocal, at one of our Masses. Rehearsal times are printed weekly in the bulletin. To find out more about how to become involved in this powerful ministry, please contact the Music Office at (979) 693-6994, extension 118.
