Vocational discernment is the diligent pursuit of knowing whether God is calling you to the priesthood, to consecrated life, or to marriage. The process of vocational discernment can be summarized in three steps: learn the basics, take a step, and follow God’s direction.
Marriage: Most people are called to marriage—a vowed union of a man and woman who promise to love their spouses, to joyfully welcome and care for children, and to help bring their spouse, family, and others to heaven.
Priesthood: Priests bring Jesus to people and people to Jesus through preaching and the sacraments. They are ordained to devote their lives to the worship and service of God and his people. Prayer for Holy Priests
Diaconate: Deacons are ordained ministers. They proclaim the Gospel, preach, and teach in the name of the Church and serve through various ministries.
Consecrated Life: Both men and women make vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience when they join orders such as the Franciscans, Benedictines, Dominicans, etc. They have specific charisms or gifts that they bring into the community to serve God through preaching, education, healthcare, prison ministry, or many other acts of charity.

Loving God,
Your Word finds a home in our hearts.
In the name of Jesus, we ask you to send your
Spirit to us. Inspire men and women among us,
young and old, to respond to Your call to
service and leadership in the Church.
Give courage and guidance to those You call
to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life and holy matrimony.
We thank you, Lord, for those who have
answered this call and pray that many more
will choose to respond.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
Come join our Catholic community for a Holy Hour in the true presence of Jesus Christ in the chapel the first Monday of each month at 7:00 PM to pray for Vocations which includes song, the rosary, vocation prayers, and a beautiful Benediction by one of our Deacons.
